COMMITTEES
The Fredericton Chamber of Commerce committees work with staff and members of the Board of Directors to develop policy, advocate to government, and connect business. These committees generally run from September to May, but interested members can join us at any point throughout the year.

Economic Development Committee
Chair: Janice McKay, Contract Management Services Limited
Meets monthly
This group works closely with economic development and community partners like Enterprise Fredericton, the City of Fredericton, and the Greater Fredericton Airport Authority to define the economic priorities for the business community. Committee members will develop strategies to increase economic development in the city and throughout the province, meet with key partners, and respond to business-related community events and initiatives.
Government Affairs Committee
Chair: Andrew Steeves, ADI Limited
Meets monthly
This committee focuses on issues of interest to the business community, both locally and across the province. Participants will respond to government announcements and initiatives, help develop and update Chamber policy, recommend policy to the municipal, provincial, and federal governments, and prepare briefs.
Communications Advisory Council
Meets monthly
This new advisory council will work closely with the Operations and Communications Manager to develop strategies for effective communication with our members. Committee members will provide suggestions for how best to manage our email communication, INSIGHT magazine, web presence and our other communications vehicles. Specific attention will be given to boosting the profile of our events and networking opportunities and advocacy efforts.
New Member Welcome Committee
Meets monthly
Members of this committee will make personal visits to the newest members of the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce to welcome them to the chamber network and to discuss chamber benefits. Members of this committee will greet members at chamber networking events and refer future member leads to the Director of Membership and Marketing.
Chamber Lead Network
Meets bi-monthly
Members of this committee will generate leads for future chamber members and identify emerging business sectors to help develop and grow the chamber network. Members will also advise the Director of Membership and Marketing on recruitment campaigns, strategies and benefit offerings.
Events and Networking Team
Meets bi-monthly
Members of the Events and Networking Team will work closely with our Events Manager to develop great networking opportunities for our members. As part of this group you’ll have the chance to offer suggestions on existing events, offer ideas for new events, and help us decide the best times to host our events.
